You should see more of the canal system, which is still used for recreation and some transportation. In addition to the Erie, you will cross the Champlain Canal before you cross into Vermont. The 3rd cool thing you will see a lot more of – The Adirondacks. The really good news is that you are well beyond black fly season, which is mostly in June. There are even bike races in early June like the Black Fly Challenge and Running from the Flies for the crazy bikers who like to ride in spite of this bane of northern New York. Keep flying …
